Malaysia’s Gentari expands green mobility offerings in Thailand through new collaborations with Evolt Technology, Thai EV
Malaysia-based Gentari, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Gentari Green Mobility, is strengthening its presence in Thailand via new collaborations with Thailand’s electric vehicle (EV) charging provider Evolt Technology and EV firm Thai EV to expand its electric vehicle (EV) charging network and introduce its vehicle-as-a-service offering in the country.
Gentari said in a statement on Thursday that these collaborations intend to contribute to Thailand’s 30@30 aspiration, comprising several electrification and decarbonization targets.
Spearheaded by the National Electric Vehicle Policy Committee, Thailand aims for EVs to achieve a 30 percent market share in vehicle manufacturing and sales by 2030—spanning private cars, trucks, and buses—supported by a network of 12,000 EV charging points.
To enhance accessibility and convenience for EV users, Gentari is introducing Gentari Go in Thailand, an app-based customer experience platform that allows customers to seamlessly discover, use, and pay for EV charging facilities while enjoying rewards.
The app also offers advanced features such as real-time energy consumption insights, helping users efficiently manage their EV charging sessions.
Building on this initiative, Gentari’s partnership with Evolt Technology ensures EV drivers gain seamless access to an extensive network of strategically located charging stations via Gentari Go.
Positioned in high-traffic areas such as petrol stations, shopping centers, and medical centers, these chargers make charging simple and convenient for users always on the move.
With Gentari Go, drivers can also journey across Thailand to Malaysia and Singapore, connecting to over 2,800 charging points through a single app.
Additionally, Gentari Green Mobility and ThaiEV Co Ltd (ThaiEV) have also combined forces to form a joint venture company, Gentari Mobility Co Ltd (GMCL).
GMCL aims to facilitate the rollout of Gentari’s Vehicle-as-a-Service offering in the country supported by EV charging services as well as the Gentari Go for Business fleet management services.
“Gentari fully supports Thailand’s aim to grow its EV ecosystem, facilitating the adoption of sustainable mobility,
“Aligned with our goal to become Asia Pacific’s leading green mobility solutions partner, we remain focused on co-creating solutions that address the unique needs and aspirations of each country,” said Senthil Balan, Chief Venture Officer of Gentari Green Mobility.
“In Thailand, we are committed to collaborating with local stakeholders and partners, leveraging their on-ground expertise towards enabling convenient and confident cross-border driving for all EV drivers,” he added.
Poonpat Loharjun, Chief Executive Officer/ Founder of Evolt Technology, said the launch of Gentari Go new application, reflects the firm’s steadfast commitment to innovation and to advancing the adoption of EVs.
“Over the past two years, our partnership has been a journey of shared vision and collaboration. We are proud to have worked alongside Gentari in creating solutions that make a meaningful difference for users, strengthen Thailand’s EV industry, and enhance the EV infrastructure across the country while driving the electrification of Thailand,” he added.
Kittikorn Phinitwongwitthaya, Chief Executive Officer of ThaiEV, commented that the partnership will drive the evolution of Thailand’s EV ecosystem and address the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions.
“With our strong expertise in commercial vehicle solutions and comprehensive fleet offerings, this joint venture empowers businesses with reliable, efficient, and competitive end-to-end vehicle packages,
“Together, we are committed to reinforcing customer confidence, helping businesses overcome doubts, and accelerating Thailand’s transition to sustainable transportation,” he said.
According to him, this partnership plays a vital role in achieving the nation’s ambitious decarbonization goals while reflecting the growing determination of customers ready to embrace a sustainable future.
