Rabbit Care, Thailand’s direct-to-consumer insurance comparison platform and a subsidiary of BTS Group, has acquired GluayGluay.com, one of Thailand’s digital motor insurance brokerages, cementing its leadership as the top consolidator in Thailand’s fragmented insurance broker market.

Rabbit Care said in a statement last Friday that this strategic acquisition expands the firm’s customer reach and strengthens its ability to deliver a more modern, streamlined insurance brokerage experience for consumers.

GluayGluay.com, known for its early focus on digital motor insurance distribution, established strong brand loyalty among online-first consumers.

By seamlessly migrating this loyal customer base into Rabbit Care’s proprietary CareOS platform—designed to deliver faster insurance comparisons and personalized service support — Rabbit Care enhances service efficiency and deepens engagement with its growing customer base.

Through this acquisition, Rabbit Care gains access to a valuable database of over 100,000 motor insurance inquiries accumulated by GluayGluay.com over the years, further enriching Rabbit Care’s opportunity pipeline and customer engagement initiatives.

Looking ahead, Rabbit Care said it will continue pursuing further strategic acquisitions to accelerate industry modernization and deliver even greater consumer value across Thailand’s evolving insurance brokerage sector.

“With this acquisition, Rabbit Care strengthens its leadership in modernizing Thailand’s insurance brokerage sector,

“We are scaling innovation, expanding access to personalized insurance solutions, and delivering faster, simpler, and more transparent experiences—shaping a smarter, more digital, and customer-driven future for the industry,” said Michael Manfred Steibl, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rabbit Care.

It is noted that all existing GluayGluay.com policies will remain fully active, ensuring trusted, uninterrupted protection and immediate access to Rabbit Care’s enhanced range of insurance solutions, intuitive policy management tools, and personalized support from more than 400 licensed insurance agents, available via phone and online chat.

The statement highlighted that Thailand’s insurance broker market remains highly fragmented, with approximately 800 licensed brokers.

Many smaller firms face challenges such as leadership transitions, compliance with increasingly strict data privacy regulations like the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and rising digital transformation costs.

Meanwhile, consumer behavior is shifting to digital channels, particularly for motor and health insurance purchases.

According to the 2024 e-Conomy SEA report by Google, Temasek, and Bain & Company, Southeast Asia’s digital insurance market is projected to grow from approximately $2.4 billion in 2024 to $7.5 billion by 2030, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 20 percent.

This acquisition marks Rabbit Care’s third successful brokerage acquisition, following the integration of Asia Direct Broker in 2021 and the insurance brokerage business of EasyCompare in 2023, reinforcing Rabbit Care’s active role in consolidating Thailand’s insurance broker market, said the statement.
