ChargEV, Malaysia-based Yinson GreenTech’s charge point operator, has on Tuesday announced an exclusive collaboration with eLoaded, a Germany-based developer and operator in direct current (DC) grid technology.

The collaboration sees eLoaded’s cutting-edge DC grid systems with chargEV’s expansive charging network, paving the way for faster, more efficient, and sustainable electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, Yinson GreenTech said in a statement.

It is noted that eLoaded’s advanced DC grid technology optimizes energy distribution, while the strategic integration of shared expertise will allow both companies to maximize the potential of this innovative system.

Through this collaboration, chargEV’s fast charging hub will benefit from eLoaded’s advanced DC grid technology, future-proofing its EV charging infrastructure by enhancing their reliability and ensuring the highest performance during peak charge times.

The advanced DC grid technology optimizes energy distribution, ensuring adequate and consistent energy delivery is supplied to meet the demands of the designated charging hubs.

It has the potential to support large-scale charging at up to 6.3MW while reducing energy transmission losses by up to 30 percent.

This is in line with Malaysia’s transition towards a greener economy and its long-term vision for sustainable development, as outlined in the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) to achieve net zero emissions target by 2050.

Another key element of this collaboration is the exchange of expertise and knowledge, whereby chargEV and eLoaded are fostering mutual growth and innovation, according to the statement.

Meanwhile, Frank Steinbacher, Chief Executive Officer of eLoaded, said this partnership showcases the versatility of their DC grid technology, extending its applications beyond data centers and industrial operations to revolutionize charging infrastructure as well.

Yinson Greentech is a green technologies business of Yinson Holdings Berhad, a Malaysia-based listed energy infrastructure and technology company.

Its subsidiary ChargEV is a charge point operator in Malaysia with an extensive EV-charging station network for public and private usage.

ELoaded GmbH is a German-Austrian technology company has grown since 2017 as the leading developer and operator of DC-grids up to 1500VDC in the world.

The DC platform solution is not only hosting the largest charging infrastructure sites in the world, it will also power the largest indoor, real estate DC-grid in the world within the BMW World in Munich and is furthermore found in the context of industrial operation like production plants, energy storage solutions or public infrastructure like bus or airfield operations.
