NTT DATA, a Japan-based digital business and technology services provider, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Booz Allen Hamilton, a United States-based technology solutions firm, to strengthen cybersecurity solutions in Singapore and the broader Indo-Pacific region.

This collaboration will address current and emergent industry challenges faced by clients in areas including threat intelligence, zero trust, and advanced automated threat protection and prevention technologies, the duo said in a statement on Thursday.

By combining Booz Allen’s and NTT DATA’s extensive cybersecurity research and innovation capabilities, this collaboration will explore opportunities to develop and extend research efforts into common areas, which will leverage artificial intelligence (AI) in cybersecurity and malware engineering.

Selected specific areas for collaboration will involve both parties’ senior researchers working closely together to deliver innovative solutions.

The collaboration will also prioritize key advanced and emerging security domains such as advanced threat detection.

This will be achieved through the implementation of knowledge-sharing initiatives and accelerated learning programs designed to enhance expertise and elevate mutual capabilities in critical areas.

Furthermore, expertise from NTT DATA and resources from Booz Allen will be utilized with an aim to extend the reach of the collaboration across the region.

It is noted that in Singapore, the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) revealed in its first Singapore Cybersecurity Health Report that only about 70 percent of local organizations have adopted their recommended cybersecurity.

While government agencies globally such as CSA are still urging full adoption of cybersecurity measures by organizations, joint efforts from players in the technology industry serve as a resource to bridge that capability
gap.

This MOU brings together subject matter experts, critical resources, and cutting-edge technology from both organizations to develop new services and solutions tailored to addressing specific cybersecurity challenges in the Singapore market, said the statement.

“This MOU brings together NTT DATA’s cybersecurity expertise with Booz Allen’s exceptional tradecraft and resources to deliver innovative solutions tailored to the unique challenges faced by our customers,” said Png Kim Meng, Chief Executive Officer, Singapore, NTT DATA.

“As the digital landscape evolves, robust solutions and capabilities are essential for a successful cybersecurity strategy,

“Together, we are well-positioned to advance our clients’ cybersecurity priorities, particularly in critical areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), malware engineering, and threat intelligence,” he added.

Garrettson Blight, Vice President, Booz Allen, commented that the firm’s collaboration with NTT DATA is an exciting opportunity to scale its services and solutions to address the most pressing current and emerging challenges facing its clients in Singapore and beyond.

“Together with NTT DATA, we strive to introduce, deliver, and support a range of advanced cybersecurity solutions from threat intelligence to zero trust,

“We look forward to contributing to increased security and resilience in Singapore and the broader Indo-Pacific region,” he added.

According to the statement, this collaboration underscores their shared commitment to strengthening cybersecurity resilience, empowering businesses to navigate evolving digital risks with confidence.

NTT DATA is part of NTT Group, which invests over $3.6 billion each year in research and development (R&D) to help organizations and society move confidently and sustainably into the digital future.
