Im trying to stream a simple Video Capture to a Web Browser with the Flask framework. Im using the code from here to stream the Camera feed. you run your code basically twice and thus cap = cv2.VideoCapture(0) tries to open /dev/video0 from two different processes. Flask video stream using OpenCV images. 0. In this article, we will try to create a slow-motion video using OpenCV( Open Source Computer Vision) library in Python. OpenCV ( is an open-source computer vision and machine learning software library. Now a video is basically a set of moving pictures moving at a rate of about 24 frames per second. This article will guide you through the process of implementing real-time video streaming using OpenCV and Flask, two powerful tools in the programming world. What You Will Need. camera = cv2.VideoCapture(0) # Use 0 for the default camera while True: success, frame = camera.read() # Read the camera frame if not success: break else: # Encode Flask live-streaming with open-CV and Python Sat Sep 03, 2022 9:12 pm Hi all, I am trying to create a code for live-streaming, and have come across many tutorials for this, but they all have the same problem. For crosscheck whether I have installed the python and OpenCV properly or not, I used a code that reads mp4 file using the command.. cap = cv2.VideoCapture('video1.mp4'). The program is able to read from the mp4 file and it displays the videos too. Hi everyone, I'm trying to test if I can stream my camera feed in OpenCV. I have two cameras connected to my laptop: The built-in webcam. An external Logitech C270 webcam. Both cameras work fine when I use them in VLC or the Windows Camera app. However, I'm facing issues with OpenCV: When I use cv2.VideoCapture(0), I get the error: Error: Could not open webcam. When I use cv2.VideoCapture I have a program with opencv that worked well on my 32-bit windows, but when i updated to 64-bit, OpenCV is not detecting my webcam only in opencv programs. It is working every where. OS - Windows

7 (64-bit) Python version - 3.7 OpenCv v As you can see, it was resolved when cap = cv2.VideoCapture(0) was inside the function. So make sure that you place "cap = cv2.VideoCapture(0) " in the correct position if you are reading the frames inside a function. Can you share the entire flask code? I am also trying to visualize the webcam feed but am unable to. I will share my code: app cv2.VideoCapture(0) not working when i upload this code to server and run app.py. actually cv2.VideoCapture(0) is actually trying to open web cam on the server that i deployed the app to and not the web cam on my computer. so how can i capture it from the client screen? I have used opencv 3.1.0 in order to read frames: import cv2 cap = cv2.VideoCapture(file_path) and then I just read the frames of cap. This works fine on some of the videos. I took a few more videos recently and the same code comes up empty. I checked: cap.isOpened() # return False and it seems like the video is not opened properly.
