The Indonesian Cold Chain Association (ICCA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Willog, a South Korean company specializing in internet of things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI)-powered logistics intelligence, to innovate Indonesia’s cold-chain infrastructure with K-logistics AIoT solutions.

Leveraging its advanced ‘K-Logistics’ expertise, this partnership aims to modernize Indonesia’s cold chain infrastructure in support of major national goals, including Indonesia’s National Logistics Ecosystem (NLE) and the ‘Golden Indonesia 2045’ vision, the duo said in a statement on Monday.

Given Indonesia’s challenging geography, consisting of approximately 17,000 islands, modernizing its logistics system is a critical government priority, said the statement.

It noted the cold chain industry is experiencing rapid growth, creating an urgent need for advanced technology standards and robust infrastructure.

Thus, the partnership between Willog and the ICCA is designed to help address these challenges by introducing advanced monitoring technology standards tailored for the Indonesian market.

According to the statement, Willog will deploy its IoT and AI solutions through a new collaboration, offering real-time monitoring of environmental factors like temperature and impact to reduce risks and costs.

This ensures data transparency and builds business trust.

Proven in South Korea, Willog’s solutions are used by leading logistics corporations and government entities, including the ROK Army.

This technology is expected to significantly improve Indonesia’s logistics efficiency and reliability, reducing waste and safeguarding sensitive goods.

Jihyun Yoon, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Willog, emphasized the strategic importance of the agreement.

“This MOU is more than a simple technology partnership. It represents a meaningful opportunity for us to contribute to Indonesia’s national vision of building the NLE,

“We are committed to leveraging Willog’s proven technology to help establish cold chain monitoring standards in Indonesia and lead logistics innovation across the ASEAN market as a representative of ‘K-Logistics’,” he added.

ICCA Chairman Hasanuddin Yasni added that Willog’s advanced cold chain solution will be a great asset in modernizing the Indonesian market.

He confirmed that the ICCA will contribute its deep expertise and market data while actively collaborating with government bodies to ensure the project’s success.

“As a next step, the two organizations plan to launch pilot projects in high-value sectors like seafood and pharmaceuticals to develop solutions perfectly optimized for Indonesia’s logistics landscape,” he added.
