Singapore-based property technology firm PropertyGuru Group announced Monday that Hari V. Krishnan will step down as the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The firm said in a statement that after a decade of successful leadership and significant accomplishment, Krishnan has decided to pursue new interests.

According to the statement, Krishnan has played a central role in transforming PropertyGuru from a start-up into Southeast Asia’s leading PropTech company.

He has been instrumental in achieving significant milestones, including building a clear market leadership position in Southeast Asia.

He led as PropertyGuru incubated new businesses and solutions that solve for the entire consumer journey.

He helmed multiple funding rounds, including the public listing on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), and steered the company through its successful acquisition by EQT Private Capital Asia.

Once the new CEO is in place, Krishnan will continue to be closely involved with PropertyGuru as Senior Advisor to the board.

PropertyGuru also announced that Lewis Ng will join as CEO of PropertyGuru in March 2025.

A seasoned leader with over two decades of experience across Asia and the technology industry, Ng has held leadership roles at global brands like Apple, TripAdvisor, and Southeast Asia’s unicorns Carousell and PropertyGuru.

During his nearly six years at PropertyGuru (2014-2019), he served as Managing Director of Singapore and Chief Business Officer for the group, driving growth and fostering a customer-centric culture.

Most recently, as Chief Operating Officer at SEEK Asia, he transformed the region’s leading job marketplace into a best-in-class career platform.

He also serves as a board director at Zhaopin, a prominent employment marketplace in China.

Coupled with his previous experience at PropertyGuru, Ng is uniquely positioned to lead the Group into its next chapter of growth and innovation.

In addition, Trevor Mather has assumed the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Mather brings a wealth of experience in scaling marketplace businesses, having previously served as CEO of Auto Trader, where he successfully transitioned the business into a fully digital platform and established it as a leader of the United Kingdom automotive marketplace.

He is currently Chairman of Baltic Classifieds Group, further underscoring his expertise in leading and growing marketplace businesses.

PropertyGuru Board of Directors include: Janice Leow, Partner in the EQT Private Capital Asia advisory team and Head of EQT Private Capital Southeast Asia Ed Williams, Founder and ex-CEO of UK’s leading property marketplace – Rightmove, Chairman of Trade Me in New Zealand, and ex-Chairman of Auto Trader.

“During my tenure, I’ve had the privilege of working with amazing teams to achieve some significant milestones and I am very proud that we have done so while building a culture that fosters inclusion and innovation – something I consider unique and our competitive differentiator,” said Krishnan.

He is confident that Ng will bring a fresh perspective to our organization while staying deeply aligned with our vision and values.

“I look forward to supporting him and the team through this transition and beyond,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ng said he is keen in leading PropertyGuru in its next chapter and work alongside the firm’s talented teams to continue driving growth and delivering value to its customers across Southeast Asia.

Trevor Mather, Board Chairman, PropertyGuru Group, added that PropertyGuru is a strong and innovative company that has firmly established itself as Southeast Asia’s leading PropTech platform, with an impressive track record of delivering value and driving growth.
