AirAsia MOVE appoints travel industry veteran Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio as Chairman

Malaysia-based Capital A’s online travel agent (OTA) platform AirAsia MOVE has announced the appointment of Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio as its new Executive Chairman, effective immediately.

AirAsia MOVE said in a statement on Tuesday that d’Ovidio is succeeding Kamarudin Meranun who has been instrumental in shaping AirAsia MOVE into a travel powerhouse in ASEAN.

According to the statement, Capital A’s OTA platform, AirAsia MOVE has consistently grown its portfolio of services, from flights and hotels to bundled travel solutions and experiences, establishing itself as a leader in the ASEAN region.

D’Ovidio’s appointment signals a renewed focus on leveraging global expertise to enhance the platform’s offerings and expand its reach further.

Kamarudin Meranun will remain actively engaged as a Board of Director in AirAsia MOVE, along with Tony Fernandes as a strategic advisor for AirAsia MOVE in the capacity of Capital A’s Chief Executive Officer.

“We are thrilled about having Manfredi onboard, as he is a true visionary who has a deep understanding of the travel ecosystem,

“His global perspective and passion for innovation will be invaluable as AirAsia MOVE continues to lead in redefining travel in the digital age,” said Meranun.

“With decades of experience in the global travel industry and luxury hospitality, he brings with him a wealth of knowledge and strategic insights, and his leadership in Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group and his influence on the broader luxury and personalized travel sector position him as a dynamic force to drive MOVE’s next chapter of growth,” he added.

Meanwhile, d’Ovidio said as Chairman, he plans to focus on enhancing the user experience, driving personalized solutions, and fostering new partnerships to ensure AirAsia MOVE remains at the forefront of travel innovation.

He noted that as a travel platform, AirAsia MOVE has steadily grown its portfolio from flights and hotels to bundled travel services and experiences, establishing itself as a leader in the ASEAN region.
